Privacy Policy
OpenWorldZero, by Ido Bloch. Last updated October 9, 2026.
OpenWorldZero is a cozy open world to explore with friends and family. We collect as little as possible: only what the game needs to let you play online and pick up where you left off. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and we never sell or share your data for advertising.
What the game collects
Anonymous player ID. The game signs you in as a guest with Unity Gaming Services. This creates a random player ID (no email, phone number or real name) and a session token stored on your device, so you stay the same player between launches.
Your display name. The name you type in "Play with friends" (up to 16 characters). Other players in the online world can see it above your character. Please don't use your real full name.
Game progress. Your chosen character and where you are in each online world, so you resume exactly where you left off.
Approximate location from your IP address. When you join the online world, the game looks up your public IP address (through the ipify.org service) only to start the game server in the region nearest to you, for a smooth connection. We don't store your precise location and never use GPS.
What the game does not collect
No contacts, photos, microphone, camera, GPS location, advertising identifiers, health, payment or browsing data. There is no free-text chat: the "Talk" interaction shows preset friendly greetings. Offline play sends nothing at all.
How it's used and who processes it
This data is used only to run the game: signing you in, showing your name to the players you play with, saving your progress and connecting you to a nearby server. It is processed by the service providers that run the game for us:
- Unity Gaming Services (Unity Technologies): guest sign-in, Cloud Code and saved progress.
- Edgegap: hosts the online game servers, which see your IP address while you're connected.
- ipify.org: returns your public IP address so a nearby server can be chosen.
Retention and deletion
Online progress is kept for as long as the game needs it to let you resume. Deleting the app removes the session token from your device; your anonymous player then can't be used again. To ask us to delete your data, email us with your display name and roughly when you played, and we'll remove it.
Children
The game is designed to be friendly for all ages and doesn't ask for personal information. If you believe a child has entered personal information (for example a real full name as display name), contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its date. Questions or requests: idobloch@gmail.com.
